Portraits of Preservation
Portraits of Preservation is a photography exhibit featuring Texas’s diverse Prehistoric and Historic archaeological sites, cultural landscapes, Tribal Historic Preservation Office work, and artistic artifact photographs, taken by archaeologists and preservationists from all over our great state. There are some talented photographers within our archaeological community, and TxPAN wants to showcase their work!
This exhibit was an opportunity to bring together two worlds, art and heritage, to celebrate Texas’s cultural resources and the dedicated people who work to preserve them.
Each photograph is displayed with short captions from the photographers about the image and why the subject should be preserved. The exhibit, curated by Amy Reid (Curator of the Center for Archaeological Studies), will soon be available as a virtual image gallery exhibit (under construction), and a downloadable catalog is available below.
